Job 31 man pt 2

Job 31 man pt 2

June 26, 2022

Several years ago I was upset over another ministry. I complained to Beckie that I felt they weren’t taking me seriously, they didn’t value me. I told her I didn’t think the ministry wanted me, maybe didn’t even like me. Beckie gave me a somber look and said, “I don’t think that’s it. It’s not that they don’t like you, it’s that they aren’t even thinking about you”. Whoa, for some reason that was even worse.
Today we want to consider the opinion of two persons. These two persons are probably in the top five of most powerful people in the universe; God and Satan. Both had opinions about Job.

    God brags: Job 1:8; 2:3
    Satan accuses: Job 1:11; 2:5

What would God say about you? Would He brag like He did for Job or Daniel (Dan 9:23)
What would Satan say about you? Would he try to falsely accuse or would he say, “I told you so!”
Job was a righteous man, as seen in chapter 31. I believe one of the factors in his piety is found in Job 2:10, “Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?” Like his contemporary, Abraham, Job trusted God in all things.

TS Today we continue to look at a Job 31 man so we can imitate those qualities.

    1. A Job 31 stands opposed to inequality Job 31:13-15; 16-23

We do not say, “the law is on our side” as an excuse to act immorally. Job 31:21
We know that we are accountable to God.
We know we have been fashioned by the same Creator in the same way.
(As a side note I want us to see the value of human life in the womb. The child is not the mother’s body, but a separate, new body with completely separate DNA. The health of the unborn child is equal to health of the mother. Her inconvenience has never been justification for killing the child.)
Because all are made in God’s image and loved by our Savior we must stand against racial inequality. Government, money, education, and Al Sharpton are not fixing the problem. Our country needs the church to step up.
    Let us never say:
They need to get up and get a job….There is a thing called endemic hopelessness.
Those people….We are all “those people”.
I haven’t got anything against_________but…..My ancestory (Celtic) was once the people no one had anything against.
They should go back to where they come from…..Whatever your politics that doesn’t minister grace to the person

TS Job was ahead of his time concerning racism, but he also excelled in humility,

    2. Job was completely transparent. Job 31:33-34
    James 5:13-16
    1 John 1:9
