Jesus had a strong opinion against obsessing on end times speculation. For that reason, so do I! But our friend Marty Zide obsesses for all the right reasons. The closer he believes we are to the rapture the harder he works for the kingdom. That kind of living is in obedience to 2 Peter 3.

Christians need to stop saying OMG

We need to refrain from applying God’s name to our man made rules, our bigoted opinions, and our fleshly indulgences.

Tell people about the hope you have
Acts 1:8

Do you have hope? I wonder sometimes. Sometimes I wonder if many believers have no more hope than the world around them because their hope is in the things of this world.

Beckie asked me if I was enjoying coaching because I looked so serious during the Carthage game. Yeah, I looked serious, because beating Carthage is serious business! But the truth is, I love coaching. I love those boys. And I love the connections it provides in this community.
So countenance is not the metric for judging the hope in your heart. What do you pray for? What do you fear? Whom do you trust? Those are all things only the Divine Trinity can know.
