I’ve got questions
Job 38:1-7
Illustration: the one asking the questions is in charge of the learning.
God:
Adam. Gen 3:9-13
Where are you?
Our sin brings separation
Repentance leading to salvation brings two perfect souls together, ours and God. How can that be? Our soul is made righteous in Christ. 2 Cor 5:21
Our insistence on feeding the flesh also separates from fellowship with God. James 4:8
Who told you that?
How do you know the Devil is lying?
What have you done?
Confession, not excuses is good
For the soul
Illustration: Some years ago Beckie read to me an excerpt from a book on parenting. The author pointed out how we approach an errant child and ask, “Why did you do that?” By doing so we encourage the child to make excuses. But I’d like God we ask, “What have you done?” we encourage confession.
Moses. Ex 4:11
Who made you?
Stop lamenting your shortcomings
and manage what you’ve got.
Who made the disabled?
Compared to what we will be we all
are disabled, seek God!
Elijah. 1 Kings 19:9
What are you doing here?
If you’re asking yourself then God
likely is as well.
When you are in the wrong place!
When you are in the right place
doing the wrong thing!
When you are in the right place
doing nothing!
Job. Job 38
Who do you think you are?
Question we ask God…..why?
Hab 1:2-4
Why are you doing nothing?
Who do you think you’re talking to?
Why are godless people better off than I?
Who do you think you’re talking to?
Why are you ignoring me?
Who do you think you’re talking to?
Conclusion: True obedience is neither blind nor demanding.
If we demand an explanation for every thing God does or does not do, we become judges placing our own intellect equal or above God’s.
If we never question or evaluate anything we are in danger vulnerability to the wrong voices.
